If you’re not interviewing with a company on campus looking to hire upcoming grads, how do you know what jobs are entry level? This is the challenge we hear repeatedly from recent graduates. Couple that with job descriptions that always require experience and it’s no wonder there is such a high unemployment rate among recent high school and college graduates.
CareerFuel found 12 high-paying entry-level jobs to consider, requiring 0-2 years of experience. If you have had internships or worked part-time at the local supermarket or in your college’s café, you have experience. Sometimes just having the confidence to say so can make the difference.
Here’s what we recommend to land one of these jobs:
1) Find some open positions with these titles using SimplyHired.
2) Pay close attention to the keywords used to describe the job requirements.
3) Connect the dots between your education and part-time work experience to show that you make the cut.
4) Be sure and use those keywords in your resume.
Worried that might not be enough? How about sharing some ideas with the company on one of their social media platforms? You know—add value. And then let them know you applied to a posted job listing.
Can’t hurt and it might just be the job search magic you need.
